The Dining Room
The Dining Room Restaurant is housed in a grade II listed Queen Anne building, located by the picturesque St James Square opposite the fountain in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire.
The restaurant is run by Christopher Astley and his wife Lisa with a strong dedicated team of staff behind them.
Christopher is in charge of the kitchen and has trained and worked in well known Michelin establishments, while Lisa heads the front of house.

We endeavour to serve the finest quality food and drink in beautiful surroundings – whether you’re looking for a light lunch, afternoon tea or just a really great coffee.
Now going forward in 2020, we’re introducing a new chapter of daytime dining, offering simple dishes made with love.
Our Dinner Menu is now available to experience at home – perfect for a dinner party or a quiet night in.
The Dining Room has been recognised with all major guide publications, eg Michelin, Good Food Guide & AA
We use local suppliers for our lovely dishes, with meat from Sykes House Farm, fish from Hodgsons, fruit and veg from Think Fresh, and wine and drinks from Yorkshire Vintners.
We are fully licensed, serving everything from coffee to champagne.

Mediterranean-influenced dishes capturing the summer, perfect for al fresco dining on the terrace.
In the winter months, enjoy home comfort dishes in the restaurant, overlooking St James Square – the heart of Boroughbridge.
COVID SECURE DINING
In accordance with government guidelines, the restaurant is open, with limited spaces.
We are also open for dining outside in our beautiful and spacious garden & terrace.
We hope to have the bar lounge open for adults during the autumn.
We endeavour to keep you (& us) safe whilst ensuring you have an enjoyable visit. These measures will be followed until there are further updates from the government.
We’re offering a small light-bite menu of sandwiches, cakes, salads & desserts, with a limited Bar & Wine menu.
This will be table service only.
COFFEE TO GO
We now offer our legendary coffee & cake to take away – available from 9.30am.
Our light-bite menu is also suitable for takeaway.
DINE AT HOME
Our popular Dine At Home menu will continue. Perfect for a dinner party or a quiet night in.
For collection on Friday & Saturdays, please order by Thursday.
We have beautiful open-air dining facilities in the garden and terrace, with tables the required distance apart.
Please be equipped for the British weather!
We can currently only accept groups of a maximum of 4 people.
At least one person per table must leave their contact details. These will be kept confidential.
Children must be accompanied by an adult and at all times respect social distancing.
These measures are our duty to protect all our customers and staff, and to comply with government requirements.
Anyone not following the guidelines will be asked to leave.
